This afternoon Aurora was reported. Could it be that tonight there was a chance for propagation to VK on 160 and 80 m ? I was expecting this at sunset/ sunrise in Australia And could you believe it, this type of propagation seems a bit predictable! Many weeks we hardly saw DX above 1000km in Europe on low bands. it is very clear that weak aurora temporary opens the low band DX path by sweeping away the summer D-layer absorption. Thanks to WSPR this rare type of propagation was noticed.
