VK7DIK 80m strong

Real good 80m this evening -8dB  never copied VK7DIK that good Normal it is one way decodes by VK7DIK  rarely decodes on my side. And that is for most W-EU Used the K9AY for receive, is that antenna good!  I wood like to believe that.. The K9AY clearly helps for JA / VK  QTF N/E.  1 new JA call worked @160m Other directions give not always the wanted result. Also new  9V1YC  3505 CW And heard HS0ZEE at 1818.5kHz  strong 569 XU1A  was only in the 75 phone part of 80m again I d o not know DK4XI  but he must have a good sen se of humor H e is us ing 2 locators   JO39 jd happens to be just a better DX  then my 16731 During the evening in the run a sudden locator change.  2012-12-17 18:52   DK4XI   3.594118   -17   0   JN39jd   5   VK7DIK   QE28sf   16739   91   2012-12-17 16:12   ...

WE6GXR

To be able to receive at 500kHz  I had to kill the 500kHz  QRM source. Yesterday  I used my modified to 475-500kHz "RANEX"  pocket radio  to search the  the noise at 500kHz.  That QRM was covering 500kHz for more than a week.  Constantly  50kHz wide and stable in frequency. This time I searched at neighbours home  but nothing found. This MW receiver is a great noise sniffler. There are lot's of noise sources in a home to be found. I found an new one a CD player in standby mode. Back at the radio the 500kH noise  was  gone suddenly.. I switched the CD player back on but that was not it. Nothing found but QRM was gone. Then replaced the 1:9 transformer back to the original in the K9AY rx antenna loop. This one has a small core with high AL.  I tested a transformer with low Al   not trifilar but "normal" wound 1:9   In the hope getting better result but it was no improvement. The K9AY d...

ARRL10m realy hit a bad weekend

During last weekend ARRL 10M  contest  the propagation was at its deepest  level this year. Bad luck. The band closed so early I thought solar cycle 24 was over before it ever started. This weekend   and last week  some  improvement though. Several  USA decodes seen and some good signals on 10m Sunday in the 9A contest.

Solar powered

That's all you need

500kHz covered with QRM

No decodes possible of WE6XGR since I have this strange QRM WE6XGR signal is weak -33 -20dB  these days  still searching the source. Need a portable MW receiver that goes below 530kHz Modified a cheap Chinese AM/FM BC receiver to tune down to 482kHz. Now Fox-hunting  for the buzzer.  The QRM comes in over my K9AY receive loop which is standing in the field about 100m away. It is odd QRM exactly covering the 600m band Google translate to see funny translations in other languages
