5-December 2014 For the moment the QTX behaves nice  at 24V about 4Amps All temperatures in the save zone.  No extreme heat losses meaning the efficiency is >80%  So RF power should be around 100  The output voltage is 400V tt  is about 115V effective and sinus shape at SWR 1: 2.5.  The antenna current shows about 30%  that is about the maximum i can get here I do not know the real current it is not calibrated but it will be about 2A now. The actual dead toll of IRF540 is 6 now. The last 2 blown up at switching in the 24V  The IRF540 specifies  36A  and 100V you would think a power supply would melt down first seeing  those impressive figures.   Possible the power supply 50000uF elco is causing a too high inrush current .  TX LED    MW.. Back QRV on 630m Medium wave after some changes now using the IC706 at 475kHz with a mod. For RX a small bandfilter and preamp is improving sensitivity. At TX side also a filter is used made of standard MW IF filters. Then I got the QTX  running its optimal power out at 13.8V. about 30W RF It was stable to run WSPR mode 2 minutes TX frames the airecoils heating up a bit loosing some 5-10W The SM-FET did not even show a temperature raise so the efficiency  was high  approaching 90%. The outside L/C tuning is easy tuning SWR to almost no reflection. Only it had to be done outside at the base of the inverted L 160 antenna. Still a remote tuning is needed or a different approach  using toroid autotransformer to keep the tuning stable enough. Met de IC706  USB dial 474.2   WSPR behalve veel EU WSPR signalen ook de CW ID hoorbaar van   AERO BEACONS   "BIA"  "SA"  "RP" origine onbekend De IC706  gemodificeerd    MW tx enable  met restrictie low power  als signaal bron. DL4YHF  gebruikt de clasic IC706 op 475kHz maar de modificatie dat mogelijk maakt kon ik niet vinden. Deze IC706 was aardig geavanceerd toen hij op de markt kwam zo'n 20 jaar geleden. Geen firmware updates mogelijk het moest allemaal gelijk goed zijn dat is different koek. Nog steeds niet afgeschreven op techniek well done ICOM! Als ik ze hoor op 80m dan  willen ze only SA/NA  of ze gaan toevallig net nadat ik ben afgestemd op  de QSX freq QRX of  QSY  Met de enorme QSX bandbreedte is de QSX ook moeilijk te vinden en de wijd verspreide aanroepers veroorzaken veel QRM op de banden. Niemand die zich ook maar iets aantrekt van de aanwijzingen van FT4TA    de meute blijft gewoon doorroepen terwijl een QSO loopt. Die domheid is er niet uit te branden blijkbaar.  Op hun huis frequentie 3523 is vaak digi QRM  mogelijk ook een QRM piraat Maar ze zijn niet zo slim om de TX frequentie wat te variëren om het leger van de idiots het leven iets moeilijker te maken. Ruim 20jaar geleden  dat ik op 2m actief was en aan deze Marconi 144CW contest meedeed. Toen nog geen internet en DXclusters maar met 2x 4cx250   en 2x 9 ele Nu zullen velen met een LDMOS PA werken  een paar watt sturing voor een kw out . Dat was 20jaar geleden Science fiction. Door de uitzonderlijke weersomstandigheden  was de tropo propagatie de hele week al boven normaal waardoor met de beperkte middelen  zelfs al EA1MX  te werken was.
