New old project 1296/144 Mhz transverter

Bouwsetje van DB6NT/DF9LN overgenomen lag al jaaren op de plank 1.3GHz/144  Transverter  kit has been re(u)sting on the shelf for years. bouwplan 1994 ...  Bauanleitung V 1.0 Zeer compact  72 x 55 x 30 mm toch 1 - 1.5Watt out en   NF < 2dB       ?E625  GAsFET  ipv MGF1302 mostly SMD parts special parts   Helixfilter  3x1296 + 1152 + 384MHz  TOKO    mixer  SYM-11 Teflonleiterkarte  Er=2.5 D=0.78 undrilled cupper   has to be drilled  silverplated and cut to size moet geboord   0.8mm en precies op maat gemaakt en liefst verzilverd of verguld Dit is bepaald geen simpel bouwpakket.

PI4GN 23cm UHF contest weekend

PI4GN  i was guest operator  23cm At early close Sunday 8 May log 60 QSO 23 cm  mostly in CW pitty just could not make it with the OE5 in the end the wind came up strong summer weather in JO63ii 27C  only just a week before we had snow. 13cm abt 15 Q    9cm 6cm 3 cm few QSO's 1.5cm  was out of order  after contest found a shortcut in the 144 cable 70cm about 170 QSO Propagation and activity was low for a May contest. Saturday night: At 1296.240 MHz  I managed a first contact after 25 years that I was QRT on 23cm Got my old  23cm transverter back and on the workbench for test . Connected to a  IC706 at 144MHz Very strong local contest station  PI4GN  about 15km distance came in 59 On  a plugged in vertical rod  1meter a.g  55 report with about 2W . Before I dared to TX  i needed to make some protection for the SSB converter against the 144 drive signal.  The 144 XVTR...

AD9850 DDS with ARDUINO

10 Hz  to 51.000000  MHz , steps selectable 1Hz  to 100kH or 1 Mhz I had this AD9850 unit some time waiting to test it. I used an ARDUINO UNO  with LCD Keypad shield And a rotary encoder. Many HAM 's already build receivers and tranceivers based on this fantastic AD9850 as VFO. With this AD9850  building a rock stable VFO became a piece of cake! The ARDUINO website shows many projects with this AD9850 But I could not find a sketch that  fitted my setup 100%. I used the rotary encoder improved interrupt sketch as first base by Simon Merrett / Oleg Mazurov / Nick Gammon rt Steve Spence First only down count worked  I had  the encoder at pin 1 and 2  not 2 and 3  since those pins are  shifted 1 position on the board that tricked me. Also the Vcc had to be connected to this encoder. Only enabling the internal pull-up R's on the pins 2 and 3 showed missing pulses. Had to adapt some things The main loop was only a...

VK0EK last call

2016-04-10 08:45:40Z: Today the winds are high, but we've had some sunshine this afternoon (and graupel/hail this morning). We still have a couple radios on the air, but much of the crew is removing antennas from the lake near our camp.  Weather is partly cloudy, with a temperature of 5 C, strong north winds and high surf, and a pressure of 982 mbar. 21.034kHz they still run huge pile  not that strong here  569 at most but after some time it was bingo. Not heard anymore at 28 but at 12m good signal on the 30 60 80 dipole no 12m ant my vote for best dx-pedition  2016although I did not get many slots 28MHz would be nice  but since I heard them that one time Easter Monday 28 was complete closed WSPR 28 no! decodes for many days  as if antenna was unplugged they will reach over 75000 QSO  soon I wonder what logger they use. With N1MM+   here i get overflow error when try to open my general log of 70.000 + QSO Sunday I was a it co...
