10m wspr this morning down to 200mW
this evening could catch 3D2T at 30m CW and
E51NOU South Cook ZK1 In a big W-pile on 28.009.9 CW
E51NOU Bill van der Heide was waiting for his flight to North Cook. I was copied as PA0OPA A miss-copy that happens ofther with my 1 letter suffix.
I had that with TL0CW Rudi on 80m CW firts he got my call correct. But then he added an extra letter to it..
And to correct an extra letter is difficult in CW with low signals and high QRM.
Yes, you are right about my miscopy. I will correct my log. You were also very weak and of course there was the usual qrm, but I should have realized it was you.
My flight to N Cook has been delayed until the end of the week. Until then I will be in S Cook and signing E51NOU. I will have a different callsign for N Cook.
I send Bill this text, I'm hoping for some activity from exotic locations ...
would you be interested in running WSPR beacon from your exotic QTH?
When your radio is idle ? you could run 1 or 5W WSPR 28MHz?
You would be almost the only one there in the whole Pacific except for KH6 there is noone!
If you can run digimodes like rtty /psk with your rig and PC it is very simple to setup
and the results are amazing!
f.i. today I reduced 28MHz to 200mW still VK7AB copied my signal
WSPR is a full automatic receive / transmit system developed by Jim Taylor K1JT
genius! low power vy small bandwidth 200 cycles for all stations on 28MHz
and it works while you can not be in the shack /home or have something else to do..
Still you can use your equipment
it is worth trying
